MontaVista Software is an Associate Member of the CE Linux Forum (CELF).
This is an industry group that is focused on the advancement of Linux as an
open source platform for consumer electronics devices. CELF intends to
operate completely within the letter and the spirit of the open source
community which is consistent with MontaVista Software's philosophy and
practices.

MontaVista Software is a member of the Open Mobile Alliance. This organization aims to grow the market for the entire mobile industry by enabling subscribers to use interoperable mobile services across markets, operators and mobile terminals. Their goal is to achieve this by defining an open standards based framework to permit applications and services to be built, deployed and managed efficiently and reliably in a multi-vendor environment.

OSDL is dedicated to enabling Linux and Linux-based applications for data center and carrier-class deployment. OSDL provides the crucial hardware for testing and development at this level, giving open source developers around the world the resources needed to bring Linux further into telecommunications and the enterprise. MontaVista Software is a key driving force on the Carrier Grade Linux Working Group of OSDL.

The Service Availability Forum (SA Forum) is a coalition of the world's premier communications and computing companies working together to create and promote open, standard availability interface specifications. Such specifications are needed to quickly and efficiently build global communications systems that deliver highly available voice, data and multimedia services. MontaVista Software is a founding member of the SA Forum.

MontaVista Software is a founding member of the Embedded Linux Consortium. The ELC is a non-profit, vendor-neutral trade association whose goal is the advancement and promotion of Linux throughout the embedded computing markets.

MontaVista Software is a Board member of the The T-Engine Forum. This forum has been established to offer a standard real-time system development platform for constructing a ubiquitous computing environment. T-Engine is a new standardized development platform into which the eTRON architecture has been installed. The eTRON architecture enables the
secure transfer of information and rights through insecure network channels such as the Internet. The T-Engine Forum has been established to research and develop the T-Engine specification.

MontaVista Software, a sponsor-level member of RapidIO was the first Linux company to join this organization. The RapidIO Trade Association is a non-profit organization headquartered in Austin, Texas, which was formed to drive the adoption of an open standard, high-performance interconnect architecture. RapidIO is a logical extension to the widely-deployed MontaVista Linux Professional Edition, in a variety of networking client devices, and to the recently announced MontaVista Linux Carrier Grade Edition, targeted at highly available, high performance telecommunications and networking infrastructure applications.

MontaVista Software is a Gold Member of the Free Standards Group. The Free Standards Group is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to accelerating the use and acceptance of open source technologies through the development, application and promotion of standards.

PICMG (PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturers Group) is a consortium of over 700 companies who collaboratively develop specifications that adapt PCI technology for use in industrial and telecommunications applications. PICMG specifications include CompactPCIR for Eurocard, rackmount applications and PCI/ISA for passive backplane, standard format cards. PICMG's mission is to extend the PCI standard, as approved by the PCI Special Interest Group (PCI SIG), for computer systems such as PCI/ISA, PCI/EISA and the PCI/3U or 6U Eurocard form factor known as CompactPCI.

MontaVista Software serves on the board of Directors of Eclipse. Eclipse is an open source community of software development tool vendors and tool developers that has formed the core of a community interested in collaborating to create better development environments and product integration. The community shares an interest in creating products that are integrated and inter-operable in an easy to use way based upon plug-in technology.

 

MontaVista Software is a member of the SD Card Association. The SD Card
standard is being built into a wide range of new digital products such as
cellular phones, audio players, automotive multimedia systems, handheld PC's and video and digital still cameras.

MontaVista Software is an Associate member of the Intel® Communications Alliance (ICA). The ICA is a community of communications and embedded developers and solutions providers who share a common vision on the convergence of computing technologies. MontaVista joins member companies within the Alliance who are committed to the development of modular, standards based building blocks, platforms, and solutions based on Intel technologies, processors, products, and services.

MontaVista Software was one of the first members of the Ready for IBM Technology program from IBM. The Ready for IBM Technology mark identifies solutions that have been tested and validated for compatibility with IBM Microelectronics products by the solution developers and assures that these solutions are compatible with IBM Microelectronics products. 

MontaVista is a valued member of the SH-Mobile Consortium membership. This consortium comprises of LSI, IP providers, system integrators, and software providers, all collaborating to create a unique mobile phone solution. The aim of consortium is to provide support for hardware, software, and mobile phone terminal developers, to support the growing SH-Mobile ecosystem.

The objectives of the Japan Embedded Linux Consortium are to promote the embedded Linux industry and engage in activities to foster expansion of the choices that users can make with confidence. MontaVista Software serves on the board of Emblix.
